TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD
Section 75 Roads Act, 1993
(Roads Regulations 1994)

Louth County Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close:

  • Bridge Street/Castletown River Bridge to the junction of Linenhall Street (R132) and Wolfe Tone Terrace.
  • The works to Bridge Street and the Fairgreen Road (R177) will be completed under full road closure.
  • The closure, which is to facilitate works to Linenhall Street (R132), will maintain traffic via Bridge Street. Newry Road. and the Fairgreen Road.

To vehicular traffic between the hours 19:30 pm to 08.00 am on Wednesday 6th August, Thursday 7th August, and Friday the 8th  of August 2025 and also Monday the 11th August to  Friday 15th inclusive to facilitate final road resurfacing works. 

Local access and emergency access will be maintained.

Diversion Route North: Northbound Traffic will be diverted via Castletown Rd. along Legion Ave. and across Jocelyn St. to the N52 and head North to meet the roundabout with the junction with the R132. Traffic will turn left onto the R132.

Diversion Route South: Southbound Traffic will divert via the R132, Racecourse Road, along the N52, Jocelyn St. to Legion Road and Castletown Rd.

Any person who wishes to object to this closure should lodge an objection in writing (envelope clearly marked “Road Closure Objection”) to the undersigned or via Louth County Council’s Online Consultation Portal using the following link https://consult.louthcoco.ie/en/consultation/notice-intention-close-roads-bridge-stfairgreen-rdlinenhall-st-dundalk not later than 12 noon  on Friday  18th July, 2025
