Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2024/2025 - Measures 2 & 3 Expressions of Interest
The 2024/25 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) provides funding for the development of new and existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas.
It will see the development of our natural amenities such as our mountains, lakes, rivers, beaches, blue-ways, bogs, forest walks and upland areas.
The funding will provide not only an outlet for the communities in which they are situated - but will also deliver added value from a tourism perspective.
Up to 90% of the total cost of a project under the Scheme will be provided for any individual project. The remaining 10% match funding must be contributed by the successful applicant.
Louth County Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for projects under Measure 2 and Measure 3 of the scheme.
- Measure 2 - Medium Scale Repair/Upgrade and New Trail/Amenity Development
Grant Amount – up to €200,000.
Applications open on Monday 27th January 2025 and close on Monday 3rd March 2025 at 12pm.
- Measure 3 - Strategic Large Scale Repair / Upgrade and New Strategic Trail / Amenity Development
Grant Amount – up to €500,000.
Applications open on Monday 27th January 2025 and close on Monday 3rd March 2025 at 12pm.
Please note that the submission window dates for Expressions of Interest to Louth County Council are different depending on the measure.
In addition, please note that the deadline dates for submission of Expressions of Interest to Louth County Council are different to the application deadline dates indicated by the Department of Rural and Community Development on Page 20 of the Scheme Outline. The reason for this is that the Expressions of Interest must be reviewed by Louth County Council before submission to the Department of Rural and Community Development for further consideration.
