Small Business Support Scheme

Louth County Council has a Small Business Support Scheme which is available to all businesses with a rate demand of €5,000 or less.

Criteria:

• You must make an application online before close of business on 31st July 2026.
• Your annual commercial rates bill on your property is €5,000 or less.
• Commercial rates, including arrears, on your account must be paid in full on or before 31st July 2026, this date applies if using any payment method other than Direct Debit.
• Applicants paying by Direct Debit are eligible, provided their Commercial Rate account is paid in full by 30th November 2026. Please note payment by Standing Order does not qualify for this scheme. 
• At the end of the year, if you comply with all terms and conditions, you will be notified, and a credit will be applied to your account.
• The grant is available to occupied properties only.

Payment Deadlines:

Applications for qualifying properties must have all the commercial rates, including arrears, paid in full on their account by 31st July 2026. This date applies for all payment methods other than Direct Debits. Accounts paying Direct Debit must be paid in full by close of business 30th November 2026. Please note payment by Standing Order does not qualify for this scheme. 

Payment Bands:

• The grant cannot exceed a 10% saving on any one property.
• The Maximum grant available to a customer with more than one property is €300.
