Louth County Council Gaeltacht Scholarship Scheme 2026
Tá suas le 15 scoláireacht (€300 an ceann) á thairiscint ag Comhairle Contae Lú do mhic léinn dara leibhéal a bhfuil cónaí orthu sa Chontae. Beidh na scoláireachtaí seo ar fáil do na Coláistí Gaeilge i rith an tsamhraidh 2026 agus tá siad maoinithe go hiomlán ag Comhairle Contae Lú.
Louth County Council is offering up to 15 scholarships (€300 each) to second-level students who live in the County. These scholarships will be available for Irish Colleges during the summer of 2026 and are fully funded by Louth County Council.

Before completing the online application form, please read these guidelines carefully.
Ní mór iarratais a chur isteach ar líne roimh an spriocdháta, is é sin, 4.30 i.n. Dé hAoine an 27ú Feabhra 2026. Ní bhreithneofar iarratais a gheofar i ndiaidh an dáta agus an ama seo.
Applications must be submitted online before the closing date which is 4.30pm Friday 27th February 2026. Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.

Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
Ní mór do mhic léinn iarratas ar leith a chur isteach chuig an gcoláiste ar mian leo freastal air. Ní bhaineann an t-iarratas seo ach le scoláireacht agus ní ráthaítear áit sa choláiste.
Students must submit a separate application to the college they wish to attend. This application is only for the scholarship and does not guarantee a place at the college.
Má sháraíonn na hiarratais a fhaightear líon na scoláireachtaí atá ar fáil, déanfar crannchur randamach ar an Aoine, 6ú Márta 2026. Cuirfear in iúl duit má éiríonn leat agus foilseofar liosta de na mic léinn ar éirigh leo ar shuíomh Gréasáin Chomhairle Contae Lú.
Should the applications received exceed the number of scholarships available, a random draw will be held on Friday, 6th March 2026. You will be notified to let you know if you have been successful and a list of the successful students will be published on the Louth County Council website.
Tá sé beartaithe ag Comhairle Contae Lú imeacht a reáchtáil i rith na seachtaine ar an 9ú Márta 2026, áit a dtabharfar cuireadh do na daltaí rathúla agus dá dtuismitheoirí freastal agus a ngradam a fháil.
Louth County Council plans to host an event week of 9th March 2026, where successful students and their parents will be invited to attend and receive their award.
Cuirfidh Comhairle Contae Lú an scoláireacht seo ar fáil do mhic léinn a d’áirithintí agus a bheartaíonn freastal ar an nGaeltacht i 2026. Mura bhfreastalaíonn mac léinn nó má chuirtear an cúrsa ar ceal, ní mór an scoláireacht a aisíoc le Comhairle Contae Lú. Ní féidir an scoláireacht seo a aistriú go bliain acadúil eile.
Louth County Council will offer this scholarship to students who have booked and plan to attend the Gaeltacht in 2026. If a student does not attend or if the course is cancelled, the scholarship must be repaid to Louth County Council. This scholarship cannot be transferred to another academic year.
Íocfar an scoláireacht roimh ré ach ní mór do gach mac léinn a mbronntar scoláireacht air/uirthi dearbhú ar fhreastal ar Ghaeltacht a chur isteach. Mura gcuirtear an deimhniú seo isteach d’fhéadfadh go n-iarrfaí an scoláireacht a aisíoc leis an Údarás Áitiúil.
Payment of the scholarship will be made in advance, however, confirmation of attendance at a Gaeltacht must be submitted by each student awarded a scholarship. Failure to submit this confirmation may result in a request to repay the scholarship to the Local Authority.
